If you are regularly sending out emails to your patients and potential patients, it is helpful to step back and think why you are doing it.
There is a tendency to worry that you might be sending out inappropriate information and so there is a tendency to keep the message wide to cover all bases.
This is a mistake.
You should focus your information on your ideal customer/patient and speak directly to them.
If there are people who it does not resonate with, they are probably not going to have treatment with you and hopefully will unsubscribe.
POSTSCRIPT: just to be clear, you need to only send targeted information to patients who have expressed an interest, so I am not talking about sending breast implant information to tummy tuck patients – this could be annoying.
I am talking about sending a specific broadcast to patients who have enquired about breast augmentation, but some of them might not be appropriate or might want a type of implant you don’t offer or a technique like fat grafting – you should not try to widen your message to incorporate all of these people.
Keep your message focused on a small ideal set of people.
