Many of us, and more importantly, our secretaries, have the mentality that if patients want treatment, they will call us back if the phone isn’t answered or they will get back in touch once we have sent out the initial details.
This is an NHS mentality because the NHS is not competitive.
Private Practice IS competitive.
Not only do you have to demonstrate superiority compared to your competitors in some way, but you also have to be ‘aggressively helpful’.
This means that you need to call patients back and follow up with them.
